SharePoint permission groups: Owners, Members, Visitors, and Viewers  

Learn the requirements for using Excel Services and how permissions can be set so that some people can edit spreadsheets, while others can only view them.

After completing this course you will be able to:

  • Know the software you need in order to use Excel Services.
  • Understand SharePoint permissions and how they affect the actions people can take with files published to your SharePoint site.
  • Know what is happening if you see a message about trusted file locations after you publish a file to your SharePoint site.

Software requirements:

  • A SharePoint site based on SharePoint Server 2007 Enterprise.
  • Excel Services set up with SharePoint Server 2007 Enterprise.
  • Excel 2007 installed on computers through one of the following: Office Professional Plus 2007, Office Enterprise 2007, or Office Ultimate 2007.
