There is one area in Word where you can quickly set up margins, tab stops, and hanging indents: the horizontal ruler.

The horizontal ruler is the bar across the top of your Word document with measurements marked out on it. Many people ignore it and use the various dialog boxes instead. But once you know how to use it, you'll wonder how you ever coped without it.
