Reduce spam! Get your Junk E-mail Filter in top condition

Junk e-mail and Junk E-mail folder
Junk e-mail, often called "spam", can be bothersome and even offensive. Take this course and learn how to optimize the Junk E-mail Filter provided with Microsoft Office Outlook® 2007, so that you have less junk e-mail and spend less time managing it.

About this course

This course includes:

  • One self-paced lesson.
  • A short test at the end of the lesson; the test is not scored.
  • A Quick Reference Card you can take away from the course.

Goals

After completing this course you will be able to:

  • Use the Outlook 2007 Junk E-mail Filter to full advantage.
  • Understand the importance of applying the filter updates that Microsoft provides.
  • Set the level of protection provided by the filter.
  • Accept or block messages addressed from or to specific people or domains. (The domain is the part of an e-mail address after the @ symbol.)

If you have even one e-mail account, you probably already know that junk e-mail (also known as "spam") can be a great big hassle.

Thankfully, the first time you start Outlook 2007, the Outlook Junk E-mail Filter already knows a lot about which arriving messages are likely to be junk.

And it gets better. The filter can be even smarter than it already is, and do even more to keep junk messages out of your Inbox.
