Calendar II: See and use multiple calendars

Multiple calendars in Outlook
Track multiple schedules and keep tabs on important events without cluttering your main calendar. Learn to view and manage multiple calendars so that you can find time when you have it, and make time when you don't.

About this course

This course includes:

  • One self-paced lesson and one practice session for hands-on experience. Practice requires Microsoft Office Outlook 2007.
  • A short test at the end of each lesson; tests are not scored.
  • A Quick Reference Card you can take away from the course.

Goals

After completing this course you will be able to:

  • Create additional Outlook calendars and keep them separate from your main calendar.
  • Use multiple calendars and compare the schedules they contain.
  • Display or hide different calendars and make multiple calendars easy to find by organizing them in the Navigation Pane.

Before you begin

This course assumes that you're familiar with entering items into your calendar and basic calendar navigation. For more information about those things, see Calendar I: Outlook calendar basics.

Suppose you need to manage or track someone else's schedule: a co-worker's schedule while she's on vacation, a professional conference series, or even a family member's daily activities. You'd rather not enter all those things into your work calendar, but you'd still like to keep track of them in one place.

Keeping multiple calendars is easily done in Outlook. And the best part is that you can keep the schedules separate from your main calendar, yet still be able to see them all together.
