Understand the basic types of Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 calendar entry. Book activities into your calendar efficiently. Stay on top of important dates with recurrence and reminders.

About this course

This course includes:

  • Two self-paced lessons and two practice sessions for hands-on experience. Practices require Outlook 2007.
  • A short test at the end of each lesson; tests are not scored.
  • A Quick Reference Card you can take away from the course.

Goals

After completing this course you will be able to:

  • Use the right type of calendar entry for each occasion.
  • Use reminders to let your calendar make sure you remember activities.
  • Use recurrence to quickly schedule activities that occur more than once.
  • Use colors and free/busy time indicators to show calendar entries according to your needs.

When you write something down in a paper calendar, you don't have much choice about how it's done. You take your pencil — or your pen, if you're brave — and you write it down. Simple.

In Outlook you have choices: between meetings and appointments, for example, or between once and repeatedly. You can mark scheduled time as busy, free, or tentative. And if you choose, when it's time to go to a meeting, Outlook will remind you.
