Justify text

  1. Select the text you want to justify (justify: To adjust horizontal spacing so that text is aligned evenly along both the left and right margins. Justifying text creates a smooth edge on both sides.).
  2. On the Formatting toolbar (toolbar: A bar with buttons and options that you use to carry out commands. To display a toolbar, press ALT and then SHIFT+F10.), click Justify Button image.

ShowTip

Because the last line of text in a paragraph is often shorter than the other lines, it may not appear to be justified. To justify the last line in a justified paragraph, place the insertion point at the end of the last line, and then press SHIFT+ENTER. Be aware that justifying a very short line of text may look odd because of the large amount of space that will be created between the words.
