Demo: Delete empty headers and footers from a document

Office demo Watch the demoDemo icon

Are the header and footer areas in your Word document taking up space even though they are blank? If so, you may be wondering how to delete the header or footer. Actually, the solution doesn't involve deleting headers or footers at all. See how the default page margins, or extra paragraph marks in the header and footer area, may be the culprit.

Note   This demo assumes that your document does not contain sections.

If you want to delete headers and footers only from the first page of a document, or if you want a different header or footer there, see the next demo.
