Make scary window decorations using Word

Applies to
Microsoft Word 2002

You can make colorful window decorations using Word and Microsoft Clip Organizer for a fraction of the cost of store-bought decorations. The best clip art for these are clips with bold, bright colors than can be seen from the street.

To make window decorations

  1. Open a new document in Word.
  2. Go to Clip Art and Media on Microsoft Office Online to find Halloween clip art.
  3. In the Search for box, type Halloween.
  4. In the Results should be text box, select Clip Art. Then, click Go.
  5. Find one to several clips that you want to use. Under each clip you choose, click the check box. When you have selected all the clips you need, click Download <number> clips in the upper left corner of the page.
  6. Click Download Now. The Microsoft Clip Organizer opens, showing you the clips that you downloaded.

Note   If you have never visited Office Clip Art and Media before, you may need to read and accept the End-User License Agreement before downloading the clips.

  7. Click each clip, and then drag them on to your Word document one at a time.
  8. To modify the size, right-click the clip and click Format Picture.
  9. In the Format Picture dialog box, click the Size tab and use the arrows to make it the size you want.
  10. On the File menu, click Print. Then, cut out the shape and tape it to your window.

Tips

  • Make static cling window decorations by printing your decoration on Avery Write-On Cling Sheets™ or a similar product from your local craft store.
  • If you have a black and white printer, use clip art with clean black lines and color in the pictures.
