Important A product key wasn’t needed for the Office Customer Preview.
The Microsoft Office product key is 25 alpha-numeric characters and looks like XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX. In most cases, the product key can be found in the product packaging but where depends on how you bought Office.
If you get an error message or have other problems installing Office, please go to the Office.com Support homepage.

I bought a subscription to Office 365 Home Premium
The product key for Office 365 Home Premium is included inside the package. When you find the product key, go to http://office.microsoft.com/setup to install Office.
I bought from a retailer (DVD not included)
The product key is on the back of the card inside the package.
When you find the product key, go to http://office.microsoft.com/setup to install Office online.

I bought and downloaded Office online
A product key isn’t provided when you buy and download Office online. Instead, the Microsoft account you used during the first Office installation will be linked to the product and will be needed if you need to reinstall.
Important Don’t forget the Microsoft account and password associated with the Office product you bought online.

My new computer came with Office installed
The product key is on the Certificate of Authenticity that’s included with the computer. It should look like this:

My company installed Office on my computer
If Office was already installed on a computer supplied by your company or organization, contact your system administrator.

The product key is on the back of the card inside the package.
When you find the product key, use your DVD to install Office on your computer.
Note Don’t lose your product key. Keep the packaging or write the number down and keep it in a safe place. If you do lose your product key, contact Microsoft support to discuss what you can do.
