Field codes: PrintDate field

The PrintDate field inserts the date and time that a document was last printed, as recorded on the Statistics tab in the Properties dialog box. To view the Properties dialog box, click the File tab, click Info, click Properties (below the document preview on the right side), and then click Advanced Properties.

Unless you select a different format, the date and time are displayed in the format specified as part of the regional settings in Microsoft Windows Control Panel.

When you view the PrintDate field in your document, the syntax looks like this:

{ PRINTDATE [\@ "Date-Time Picture"] [Switches] }

 Note    A field code tells the field what to show. Field results are what’s shown in the document after having evaluated the field code. To toggle between viewing the field code and the field code results, press Alt+F9.

\@ "Date-Time Picture"

Specifies a date and time format other than the default. If you select a format in the Field dialog box (Insert tab, Text group, Quick Parts command, Field command), Microsoft Word inserts a corresponding date-time picture switch.

To use a format that's not shown in the Field dialog box, click Field Codes and type the format switch (format switch (\*): A switch or instruction that specifies the capitalization, numeral style, and character formatting that Microsoft Word uses in a field result.) directly in the Field codes box.

Specifies use of the Hijri/Lunar calendar.

Specifies use of the Saka Era calendar.
