Select all the shapes on a layer
 
  1. On the Edit menu, click Select by Type.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • To select shapes on a specific layer, in Select by, click Layer, and then click the layer with the shapes you want. Press CTRL and then click to select multiple layers.
    • To select shapes that are not assigned to any layer, in Select by, click Layer, and then click No Layer.
