I can't make changes to my drawing.
Track Markup may be enabled. When Track Markup is started, you can make changes only to your markup overlay. To make changes to the original drawing, turn off markup tracking and click the Original tab.
I can't apply colors to a shape.
Shapes are displayed on the markup overlay in the assigned color for that overlay. If you apply text color, fill color, or line color formatting to a shape, those colors will not appear on the markup overlay. When the shape is copied from the markup overlay to a drawing, the formatting changes you selected are displayed.
When I add ink using a colored pen, the color doesn't stay the color I want.
Ink is displayed on the markup overlay using the assigned color for your markup. When an ink shape is copied from the markup overlay to a drawing, the ink is displayed using the colors you selected.
I clicked Markup on the View menu, but I can't see the markup for one of my reviewers.
The markup for that reviewer may be hidden. To show markup for an individual reviewer, on the Reviewing task pane under Show Markup Overlays, click Reviewers and select the check box next to the names of the reviewers whose markup you want to see, or click Show All to see markup for all reviewers.
I can't tell which markup was added by a particular reviewer.
Reviewers are assigned a color when they open a drawing to add markup. These colors and their initials are used for their markup overlay tabs, as well as for all the shapes, ink, and comments they added.

To see the color and initials assigned to a reviewer, look under Show Markup Overlays on the Reviewing task pane.
To show or hide all markup for a particular reviewer, on the Reviewing task pane under Show Markup Overlays, clear all check boxes except for the ones next to the names of the reviewers whose markup you want to see.
If markup tracking is off, click the tab for that reviewer. The markup created by that reviewer is selected and outlined in magenta on the drawing.
When I print a drawing with markup, I don't see what I expect.
- Markup will appear on a printout of a drawing if the markup appears on the screen. To show or hide markup, on the Reviewers task pane under Show Markup Overlays, clear all check boxes except for the ones next to the names of the reviewers whose markup you want to print.
Note If Track Markup is enabled, you cannot hide your own markup. If you want to hide your own markup, first turn off markup tracking (on the Tools menu, click Track Markup).
- Comments cannot be printed.
I can't see any markup on my drawing that was saved as a Web page.
Markup does not appear on a drawing saved as a Web page.

- A shape may be selected on a markup overlay (this happens when you click a markup in the markup list on the Reviewing task pane), or a markup overlay tab may be selected. Click the Original tab, and then try again.
Note Markup does not appear on a drawing saved as a Web page.
I deleted all markup from my drawing, but comments still appear.
Any comments added to the original drawing are not markup. To delete a comment from the drawing, select it and then press DELETE.
I can't select a shape on the drawing.
When I add shapes to the markup overlay, they don't act like they do in a regular drawing.
The markup overlay is separate from the original drawing. When shapes are added to a markup overlay, they do not have the same behavior as when added directly to the original drawing.
How do I accept or reject changes?
To make suggested changes to your drawing, you can copy markup from a markup overlay to your drawing. For some drawing types, however, this can have unexpected results. For best results, use the markup as guidance for making changes directly to your drawing.
To make changes to your original drawing, make sure Track Markup is disabled. If the text at the top of the Reviewing pane says Current Reviewer, click Track Markup at the bottom of the task pane to stop tracking markup.
