Create a data report for an organization chart

If you've added data to organization chart shapes, such as names, titles, and telephone numbers, you can create a report of that data and save it to a file you can print or distribute to others. Microsoft Office Visio provides a ready-made report that inlcudes the default custom properties that are stored for each organization chart shape.

Note  You can also create your own custom report that includes only the custom property fields you specify.

  1. On the Tools menu, click Reports.
  2. In the Reports dialog box, under Report, click Organization Report, and then click Run.
  3. In the Run Report dialog box, select the format for your report.
  4. ShowHow

  5. Do one of the following:
    • If you are saving your report as a Visio shape on the drawing, select whether to save a copy of the report definition with the shape or to link to the report definition.
    • ShowTip

    • If you are saving your report as an HTML or XML file, type a name for the report definition.
