Why isn't the drawing page the same size and orientation as the printed page?
Changes you make to drawing page settings are not automatically reflected in printed page settings. Before you print, make sure that settings such as orientation are the same for both the drawing page and the printed page in the Page Setup dialog box (on the File menu).
How do I change the size of the page?
Set the size of the drawing page in the Page Setup dialog box (on the File menu). You can also resize the drawing page by pressing CTRL and dragging the edges of the page in the Microsoft Office Visio workspace.

How do I hide the grid lines?
On the View menu, click to uncheck Grid.
How do I hide the rulers?
On the View menu, click to uncheck Rulers.
How do I change the color of the drawing page or the area outside of it?
On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click Advanced, and then click Color Settings.
How do I add a watermark for a page?
To create a watermark for your document, first create a background. Then, assign that background to any pages you want the watermark to appear on.
- Right-click a page tab
in the lower-left part of the window, and then click Insert Page. - Click the Page Properties tab, and then click Background.
- Add your watermark text to the background page.
- Select the text block. On the Format menu, click Text, and then select a color for the watermark, such as a shade of gray. You can also adjust the transparency of the text to make the watermark more subtle.
- For each the page that you want the watermark to appear on, do the following: On the File menu, click Page Setup, and then click the Page Properties tab.
- In the Background list, click the name of the background that you want to assign.
How do I add headers and footers for the pages in my drawing?

Why can't I select, add, or edit shapes on the page?
The shapes are probably assigned to a locked layer. Shapes on a locked layer cannot be selected, moved, or edited. Also, shapes cannot be added to a locked layer.
