Project visualization with the Microsoft Office Visio Professional 2007 WBS Modeler Add-in

The Microsoft Office Visio Professional 2007 Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) Modeler Add-in enables effective integration of Microsoft Office Visio 2007 and Microsoft Office Project Standard 2007 by providing a new approach to creating, editing and modifying project plans graphically in Visio 2007. The WBS Modeler offers the ability to manage project elements in a graphical view, and to layout a WBS in Visio 2007.

The WBS Modeler can be used to visualize and edit an existing project plan or to create a new project plan in Visio 2007. This project plan can then be exported from Visio 2007 to Project 2007 to carry out the next planning steps. The WBS Modeler provides flexibility to import and dynamically create a visual representation of specific phases of a large or detailed project plan.

The WBS can be exported back to Project 2007 into a new project plan. The WBS Modeler can also be used to update an existing plan. However, this update process is limited to deleting, renaming, or adding elements. Moving elements is not supported at the current stage.
