Background World shape

A background (background: A page that you can assign to another page to create multiple layers in a drawing. You can see the shapes on a background when the page it is assigned to is displayed. You must display the background page to select or edit the background.) design can make your diagram look better, reinforce its message, and unify multiple drawing pages. Each Microsoft Office Visio drawing contains at least one foreground page and may also contain one or more backgrounds. You can use the Background world shape to quickly add a global perspective to your drawing.

To use the Background world shape

  1. Open the Backgrounds stencil if it's not already open. (On the File menu, point to Shapes, point to Visio Extras, and then click Backgrounds.)
  2. Scroll down until you find the Background world shape and then drag it onto the drawing page. Visio will automatically add this shape to your drawing as a background.

Note   To remove the Background world shape, select the shape on the background page and then press DELETE, or drag the Background none shape from the Backgrounds stencil onto the drawing page.
