Before you begin

Before taking this course, you should take the course Get to know Visio. Or you should know what Visio templates, stencils, and shapes are, and the basics of how to work with them.

You're working with a new employee, and after the introductions are out of the way, the first questions are, "Who's your boss? Who's your boss's boss? Who else is on your team?" You could answer each of these questions, but wouldn't a diagram be quicker?

An organization chart — we'll call it an org chart from now on — is what you need. If you've never made an org chart in Visio before, then this course is where to start. We'll show you how quickly you can create your first one.
