Queries IV: Working with complex criteria

Query grid with criteria on separate rows; query grid with all criteria on one row

Fig. 1  This query will find all the customers who live in France, Belgium, Germany, Or Denmark.
Fig. 2  This query will also find all the customers who live in France, Belgium, Germany, Or Denmark. Instead of typing in separate cells, you enter the criteria values in the same cell and separate each value with Or.

What if you want to broaden your query beyond a single criteria, such as retrieving all the customers who live in France, Belgium, Germany, or Denmark?

If the conditions apply to the same field, you can type the first condition in the Criteria cell, and then type each additional condition in an or cell under the Criteria cell. Or, if you prefer, you can type all the conditions, separated by the Or operator, in the same Criteria cell — for example, "France" Or "Belgium" Or "Germany" Or "Denmark".
