In this practice, you'll try grouping some contacts using views. Then you'll select a group and create a message to send to all those contacts at once.

For this practice you'll use sample data, which will be downloaded to the My Documents folder on your hard disk. This sample data will allow you to practice without altering your own contacts.

About the practice session

When you click Practice in Outlook, Outlook will open, a practice file will download to your computer, and a separate window with practice instructions will appear alongside Outlook (see picture). You'll open the practice file from within Outlook.

Note     You need to have Outlook 2003 installed on your computer.

Tips

  • If Windows Explorer opens to display the location of the practice file, do not double-click the file to open it. Close Windows Explorer and follow the instructions in the practice to open the practice file from within Outlook.
  • If the practice instructions aren't visible, or disappear when you click in Outlook, click the Outlook Help taskbar button and then click the Auto Tile button on the upper-left corner of the instructions.
  • If the practice instructions cover up Outlook, click the Auto Tile button on the upper-left corner of the instructions.

Before you begin

Make sure to close Outlook if it is already running.

Start the practice
