How to check out a file.
If you think you might need more time to edit a file and give feedback, we recommend checking out the file first. Click the Microsoft Office Button
, point to Server, and then click Check Out. When you’re done, you can check in the file so that other people on the workflow can give their feedback. To do that, simply close the file and you’ll be prompted to check it in.
