Get started designing your own professional publications

Test yourself

Complete the following test so you can be sure you understand the material. Your answers are private, and test results are not scored.

How does text in Publisher differ from text in word-processing programs?

In Publisher, every block of text lives in a movable, resizable container called a text box.

In Publisher, you never create text from scratch. You start your own publications with predesigned templates that already have placeholder text on the page.

How do you add self-updating "Continued" notices to linked text boxes?

Type "Continued on page…" at the bottom of the first text box, and "Continued from page…" at the top of the second text box.

Click each linked text box, and then, on the Format menu, click Text Box to access the Text Box tab.
