The dashboard in the picture includes Product and Geography lists, also known as filters, that enable anyone who uses the dashboard to narrow what's shown there. For example, a salesperson might want the dashboard to display information for accessories only. To do that, the salesperson would select Accessories from the Product filter.
Here's something to consider as you use filters: The dashboard creator can associate filters with all PerformancePoint Web Parts in the dashboard or only some of them. If you're not seeing the results that you expect, it could be because the filter isn't hooked up to the Web Part you're looking at. In that case, you may have to use a different technique to reach the level of detail that you want. We'll show you a way to do that later in this course.
