Deleting a document part from the ZIP package.
To delete a document part, such as comments.xml, from a ZIP package, you can begin by just selecting and deleting that document part from the ZIP package.
After you delete the document part, you must edit applicable .rels files to remove any reference to that document part. You may also need to edit other document parts to remove references to content from the deleted document part. Learn how to take these steps on the screens that follow.
Note Remember that some document parts are required and cannot be deleted. For example, a Word document cannot open without the main document part, document.xml. Similarly, an Excel workbook must contain at least one worksheet (that is, one sheet#.xml part).
