To apply a different table style or create your own, click Table AutoFormat on the Table menu.
To apply an existing table style, start with your insertion point anywhere in the table you want to format. In the Table AutoFormat dialog box, select a style from the Table styles list and click Apply. Note that you can see a preview of that style in the Preview box.
In this dialog box, you can also specify a different default table style for the active document or for all documents based on the current document's template.
To do this, select your preferred default table style, and then click Default. As you can see in the illustration, you then specify whether to apply the default to this document only or to all documents based on the current document's template and click OK.
