You can apply updates either automatically or manually.
Junk e-mailers constantly change their strategies — even their identities. To help you keep ahead of their latest schemes, Microsoft creates updates for your Junk E-mail Filter.
It's important that you make sure these updates are downloaded to your system promptly. There are two ways to do that:
Use Microsoft Update to update your system automatically. This is the easiest method. Microsoft checks for the latest updates, so you don’t have to. And it doesn't check for filter updates only; it also scans for appropriate updates for many other Microsoft programs.
Alternatively, you can make frequent visits to the Update Web site for Outlook, and apply any new updates manually.
We've included information about both methods in the Quick Reference Card at the end of this course.
