As we mentioned before, URLs are not just for hyperlinks. They are also used to display pictures, play sound files, or reference any file on the Internet.
For example, take a look at the Web page shown here. The three hyperlinks shown throughout the page use URLs—you already know that from the previous lesson. But this page also has pictures. Although the pictures appear seamlessly within the page, they are not embedded or stored within the page itself. Instead, they are referenced in the HTML with URLs.
