Buy, install, configure or uninstall a Microsoft Office 2007 Language Pack

Language packs enable you to change the user interface (UI) language for the Microsoft Office programs installed on your computer, access Help, and use proofing and editing tools in your preferred language.

If you already have a language pack installed and want to learn how to change the language that you type in or that displays in Step-by-step: Preparing your computer to type and edit text in another language.

What do you want to do?

Buy, download, and install a Language Pack

Language packs must be purchased and installed together with another language version of your 2007 Microsoft Office system programs, for example, the German version of Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 suite.

  1. On the Buy a Language Pack page, click the down arrow to select the language that you want, and then click Buy Now button.
  2. Select the options that you want, and then follow the instructions to purchase, download, and install the software.

After you buy, download, install, and configure a language pack, you can use that language for all the installed 2007 Office release programs.

Important   All Office products must be closed for your changes to take effect.

  1. Click Start, click All Programs, click Microsoft Office, click Microsoft Office Tools, and then click Microsoft Office 2007 Language Settings.
  2. In the Microsoft Office Language Settings 2007 dialog box, on the Display Language tab, select the options that you want, for example, the Office menus and dialog boxes, Help, and language priority order, and then click OK.
  3. Click the Editing tab, scroll through the list of Available editing languages, click the language that you want, and then click Add to move the language to the Enabled editing languages box.
