You should ensure that you can access the home page of the portal site by using HTTP and HTTPS with the NETBIOS name of the computer. To do this, open a browser and type the URL for the portal site, using the NETBIOS name of the server.

If you do not know the NETBIOS name of your server, do the following:

1. Open a command prompt.
2. Type hostname, and then press ENTER. The NETBIOS name is displayed.

    Note   If you have configured IIS with a different port than port 80 (for http) and 443 (for https) for the portal site, you must include the port number in the URL, such as http://server_name:9000 or https://server_name:9001.

If you receive a security alert regarding revocation information when you access the portal site with https, click Yes to proceed.

When you receive a security alert stating that the certificate name is invalid or does not match the name of the site when you access the portal site with https, click Yes to proceed.
