Move the Virtual Server to the New Application Pool
 

As the last step in creating an additional application pool for the portal site, you must move the virtual server that hosts the portal site to the new application pool.

  1. On the taskbar, click Start, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.
  2. In the Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager console, expand the Web Sites node, and then expand a virtual server (such as Default Web Site) to show all of the directories.
  3. Right-click the name of the virtual server, and then click Properties.
  4. In the properties dialog box, click the Home Directory tab.
  5. In the Application settings section, in the Application pool list, click the name of the application pool that you created, and then click OK.
  6. For the _vti_bin, _layouts, and _wpresources directories, do the following:
    1. Right-click the directory, and then click Properties.
    2. On the Virtual Directory tab, in the Application settings section, in the Application pool list, click the name of the application pool that you created, and then click OK.
  7. Close Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.
  8. On the taskbar, click Start, and then click Run.
  9. In the Open box, type iisreset, and then click OK.
