A newsfeed conversation consists of a post and all of its replies. You can copy a link to a conversation and then paste it in any rich text location, such as another post, an email, or a Word document. You might want to do this if you want to draw attention to a particularly interesting or relevant conversation.
Note To follow a link to a conversation, you must have access to the site that contains the conversation. For example, if you copy a link to a conversation in a team site newsfeed and then paste it into a post in the public newsfeed, only people who are members of the team site will be able to follow this link.
To share a link to a conversation:
- Go to the conversation you want to copy as a link.
- Click the ellipses (…) under the first post in the conversation, and then click Copy link to conversation.
- Copy the Web URL that appears in the Link to conversation box.
- Paste the link in the desired rich text location.
Tip Web URLs for conversations are typically long and complicated, so it’s usually a good idea to use display text for the link. If you’re copying a link to a conversation to another conversation post, see Add features to a newsfeed post for details about using display text when adding a link to a post.
