Download a chart of default groups and permission levels

Applies to: Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010

As a site collection administrator or site owner, when you choose what level of access to give users to your site collection and sub-sites, you might find it helpful to see all the default groups and permission levels that are available to you at a glance.

You can download a Microsoft Office Excel template that displays this information in a chart.

The chart is designed to be printed in Portrait Orientation on one sheet of 11 x 17-size paper, but you can also print it on several letter-sized pages.

Download the template from Chart: Default Groups and Permission Levels.

To print the chart on 11 x 17-sized paper:

On the File tab, click Print, and then under Settings, choose the following options:

  • Orientation: Portrait
  • Page Size: Tabloid 11” by 17
  • Scaling: Fit Sheet on One Page

To print the chart on standard Letter-sized paper:

On the File tab, click Print, and then under Settings, choose the following options:

  • Orientation: Landscape
  • Page Size: Letter 8.5” by 11”
  • Scaling: Fit All Columns on One Page
