Add an animated picture to a Web page

  1. On the Insert menu, point to Picture, and then click From File.
  2. In the Insert Picture dialog box, locate the folder that contains the animated picture that you want to insert, and then click the animated picture that you want.
  3. Click Insert.

Microsoft Office Publisher does not display the animation when you add an animated picture to a Web page. You see the animation when you preview your Web page in a browser (browser: Software that interprets HTML files, formats them into Web pages, and displays them. A Web browser, such as Windows Internet Explorer, can follow hyperlinks, transfer files, and play sound or video files that are embedded in Web pages.).

If your picture is not animated in the browser:

  • The file you added may have lost its animated properties because of the method you used to place it in your Web page. For example, if you used the Copy and Paste commands, the picture may have lost animation properties. Try inserting the picture.

ShowHow do I insert a picture?

    1. On the Insert menu, point to Picture, and then click From file.
    2. Navigate to and then select the animated picture that you want.
    3. Click Insert.

After you insert an animated picture into your Web publication, you can copy and paste it from one place to another.

  • Your picture might overlap another object on the page. In this case, separate the two objects.
  • The picture may have been rotated, which turns off the animation.

If the quality of your graphic is poor:

  • The graphic may have been resized, which can change its appearance and quality. Try inserting the graphic again at its original size.
  • The quality of your original graphic might be poor. Replace the graphic with a different graphic.
