Insert a Microsoft Visio Organizational Chart

Although Microsoft Publisher doesn't provide a quick and easy solution for creating an organizational chart, Microsoft Visio does. Visio has an organizational chart wizard and templates that make it easy to create a chart. After you've created the chart in Visio, you can insert it into your publication.

To insert a Visio drawing into a publication

  1. On the Insert menu, click Object.
  2. In the Insert Object dialog box, click Create From File.
  3. Select the Link checkbox.
  4. Click Browse.
  5. In the Look in list, click the drive or folder that contains the chart file.
  6. In the folder list, locate and open the folder that contains the Visio organizational chart file.
  7. Click OK.

Note  You can resize or move the chart just as you would any object in Publisher. To update the chart, edit it in Visio. The saved changes will appear in your publication the next time it is opened in Publisher.
