Microsoft Office Publisher 2007 includes features that make the software accessible to a wider range of users, including those who have limited dexterity, low vision, or other disabilities.

Change keyboard options

Change your keyboard options with the Accessibility Options.

  1. Press CTRL+ESC to open the Start menu.
  2. Press SHIFT+C to open the Control Panel.
  3. Press TAB repeatedly, as needed, to select Accessibility Options, and then press ENTER.
  4. Press TAB repeatedly again, as needed, to select Accessibility Options, and then press ENTER to open the Accessibility Options dialog box.
  5. Press CTRL+TAB repeatedly, as needed, to select the Keyboard tab.
  6. After you have selected the tab, press TAB to advance through the options or buttons on the tab.

 Note   If you select a Settings button, press ENTER to open the related dialog box, press TAB to move to the next option, and then select ENTER to select the object.

For a brief description of an option, select that option, and then press F1.

Control the pointer with your keyboard

Control the pointer with your keyboard.

  1. Press CTRL+ESC to open the Start menu.
  2. Press SHIFT+C to open the Control Panel.
  3. Press TAB repeatedly, as needed, to select Accessibility Options, and then press ENTER.
  4. Press TAB repeatedly again, as needed, to select Accessibility Options, and then press ENTER to open the Accessibility Options dialog box.
  5. Press CTRL+TAB repeatedly, as needed, to select the Mouse tab.
  6. After you have selected the tab, press TAB to advance through the options or buttons on the tab.

 Notes 

  • If you select an option with a slider, you can use the arrow keys to change the settings.
  • If you select the Settings button, press ENTER to open the related dialog box, press TAB to move to the next option, and then select ENTER to select the object.

Change the zoom options

You can zoom in to see parts of your document close-up, or zoom out to see more of the document. For example, you can change your zoom percentage to 75 percent.

To do this Press
Switch between the current view and the actual size. F9
Zoom to full-page view. CTRL+SHIFT+L
Change to a different zoom percentage. F10, SHIFT+V, SHIFT+Z, select a zoom percentage

Change the display and color settings

Change your display options with the Accessibility Options. Microsoft Office system programs support high-contrast color schemes, and you can also change the color of text.

  1. Press CTRL+ESC to open the Windows Start menu.
  2. Press SHIFT+C to open the Control Panel.
  3. Press TAB repeatedly, as needed, to select Accessibility Options, and then press ENTER.
  4. Press TAB repeatedly again, as needed, to select Accessibility Options, and then press ENTER to open the Accessibility Options dialog box.
  5. Press CTRL+TAB repeatedly, as needed, to select the Display tab.
  6. After you have selected the tab, press TAB to advance through the options or buttons on the tab.

Show or turn off tippages and ScreenTips

To do this Press
Show/turn off tippages. ALT+T, SHIFT+O, CTRL-TAB repeatedly, as needed, to User Assistance tab, TAB to Show tippages, press SPACEBAR to select, and then press ENTER.
Show/turn off ScreenTips. ALT+T, SHIFT+O, CTRL-TAB repeatedly, as needed, to User Assistance tab, TAB to Show ScreenTips on objects, press SPACEBAR to select, and then press ENTER.

Change sound options

Change your sound options with the Accessibility Options.

  1. Press CTRL+ESC to open the Windows Start menu.
  2. Press SHIFT+C to open the Control Panel.
  3. Press TAB repeatedly, as needed, to select Accessibility Options, and then press ENTER.
  4. Press TAB repeatedly again, as needed, to select Accessibility Options, and then press ENTER to open the Accessibility Options dialog box.
  5. Press CTRL+TAB repeatedly, as needed, to select the Sound tab.
  6. After you have selected the tab, press TAB to advance through the options or buttons on the tab.
  7. To select an option, press the SPACEBAR.

 Note   After you select Use SoundSentry, press TAB to navigate to the visual warning list, use the arrow keys to scroll up and down through the list, and then press ENTER to select an option.

Automate tasks

Collect and paste among programs

Collect items to paste

  1. Make sure that the Microsoft Office Clipboard is displayed in the task pane of any open Office program or the Collect Without Showing Office Clipboard option is turned on.
    • If you want to display the Office Clipboard in the active program, select Office Clipboard on the Edit menu.
    • If you want to check the Collect Without Showing Office Clipboard option, display the Office Clipboard, select Options, and then make sure the Collect Without Showing Office Clipboard option is selected.
  2. Select the first item that you want to copy.
  3. On the Standard toolbar, select Copy Button image.
  4. Continue copying items from documents in any Office program until you have collected all of the items that you want (up to 24).

Paste collected items

  1. If the Microsoft Office Clipboard is not displayed in the task pane, select Office Clipboard on the Edit menu.

 Note   If the Office Clipboard is not available, you are in a program or view that doesn't support showing or pasting multiple items from the Office Clipboard.

  1. Select where you want the items to be pasted. You can paste collected items into any Microsoft Office program.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • To paste items one at a time, on the Office Clipboard, select each item that you want to paste.
    • To paste all the items that you copied, select Paste All Button image on the Office Clipboard task pane.
