Checking In the Enterprise Global Template

When you are finished working with the Enterprise Global Template, you must check it back in to the Project Server database before other project managers can work with the new changes.

To check in the Enterprise Global Template from Project Professional

  1. In Project Professional, with the Enterprise Global Template open, point to the File menu and select Close.
  2. Click Yes when asked if you would like to save changes to the Enterprise Global Template.

Note   To begin working with the changes to the Enterprise Global Template in your own projects, close and restart Project Professional to update your local copy with the latest updates.

Forcing a Check-In of the Enterprise Global Template

Sometimes it might be necessary to force a check-in of the Enterprise Global Template when it is checked out. For example, if a user has the Enterprise Global Template checked out and he or she experiences a local area network (LAN) failure, power outage, or hardware failure and cannot check in the Enterprise Global Template, you might need to force a check-in.

To force a check-in of the Enterprise Global Template

  1. In Project Web Access, click Admin.
  2. On the Admin page, in the Actions list, click Manage enterprise features.
  3. In the left pane, under Enterprise options, click Check in enterprise projects.
  4. On the Check in enterprise projects page, select the Enterprise Global Template, and then click Check-In.
