Open the enterprise global template for editing

To edit the enterprise global template (enterprise global template: A collection of default settings, such as views, tables, and fields, that are used by all projects across the organization. These settings exist within a special project in Project Server.), you must check it out from Microsoft Office Project Server 2003.

  1. On the Tools menu, point to Enterprise Options, and then click Open Enterprise Global.

The enterprise global template is checked out and opens as a new (blank) project with the Gantt Chart view displayed.

Note  The name in the Microsoft Office Project 2003 title bar is Checked-out Enterprise Global.

  2. Make the changes in the template the same way you would in a regular project.

For example, you can add a new toolbar to the enterprise global template. On the View menu, click Toolbars, and then click Customize. In the Customize dialog box, add the new toolbar.

  3. When you are finished making changes, on the File menu, click Close.

Notes

  • If you've made changes and have not yet saved them, you will be asked if you want to save them.
  • You cannot add resources and tasks to the enterprise global template. If you add them, they are not saved when the enterprise global template is checked back in.
