Make a simple to-do list with Microsoft Project Server 2002

Applies to
Microsoft Project Server 2002
Microsoft Project 2002

Do you want to track personal tasks or small projects that don't need formal scheduling? You can use Microsoft Project Server to create a simple to-do list—that is, a list of tasks that are not associated with a project schedule. You can even track the progress of tasks on your to-do list, which are displayed in a Gantt Chart much like project tasks.

If you have Microsoft Project installed in addition to Project Server and want to incorporate tasks from a to-do list into an existing or new project, you can simply promote a to-do list to that project.

To create a to-do list using Microsoft Project Web Access

  1. In the side pane, click Create a new personal or shared to-do list.
  2. On the next page, in the To-do list Name box, type a name for your list.
  3. Specify users who can view this list:
    • To allow any user to view the list, click Anyone.
    • To allow only the people working on its tasks to view the list, click All resources who are assigned tasks from this to-do list.
    • To create a personal to-do list, click Me (only).
  4. Click Next.
  5. On the next page, enter the names and details for tasks you want to include on your to-do list.
  6. Click Save New Task(s).
