Office Project Standard 2007 is designed for managers who do not need to collaborate with others to build their projects or select resources. Office Project Professional 2007 is designed for project and resource managers who work with others across an enterprise to share schedules and resources by connecting to Office Project Server 2007. Also providing access to the server, Office Project Web Access 2007 is designed for those who do not need all the functions of the desktop client, such as executives, team members, and administrators.

Office Project Standard 2007

Office Project Professional 2007
Office Project Professional 2007 gives you robust project management capabilities. You can stay informed—control project work, schedules, finances — and keep project teams aligned. And you can become more productive through integration with familiar Microsoft Office system programs, powerful reporting options as well as guided planning, wizards, and templates.

 Note   Office Project Professional 2007 can be either run as a single-user solution or connected to Office Project Server 2007 for enterprise project management capabilities. In this comparison, we will present features in the context of Office Project Professional 2007 connected to Office Project Server 2007.

Office Project Web Access 2007
The Web client to Office Project Server 2007 provides users a simple Web interface to access a range of functions in Office Project 2007. With Office Project Web Access 2007, users can view, analyze, and report on project information, including timesheets, as well as create project proposals and activity plans. Functions in Office Project Web Access 2007 can be exposed or removed, based on a user’s role and authorization level. Office Project Web Access 2007 also includes the administrative user interface. Use of Office Project Web Access 2007 requires an Office Project Server 2007 Client Access License (CAL).
