Subproject Read Only (task field)

Data Type     Yes/No (Yes/No field: A type of field with content set to either Yes or No; also known as a Boolean field or a True/False field. For example, the Recurring field indicates whether the task is a recurring task.)

Entry Type     Entered (entered field: A field in which you may type or edit information. This is in contrast with a calculated field, in which Project calculates and enters information.)

Description     The Subproject Read Only field indicates whether the subproject (subproject: A project that is inserted into another project. Use subprojects as a way to break complex projects into more manageable parts. Also known as an inserted project.) of this task is a read-only project.

Best Uses     Add the Subproject Read Only field to a task sheet when you have several subprojects in your project and you want to review and set whether they are read only. Click Yes in the Subproject Read Only field if you want to ensure that the subproject information is not changed when being opened and read from within the master project. Click No in the Subproject Read Only field if you want to be able to change subproject information from within the master project.

Example     You're the originator of a master project that will be made available to others in your group. To ensure that the subproject will not be changed when viewed by others, click Yes in the Subproject Read Only field.

Remarks     If you're the originator of the subproject, you can change whether the subproject is read only in the Inserted Project Information dialog box.
