Set the month in which a fiscal year starts

  1. On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Calendar tab.
  2. In the Fiscal year starts in box, click the month that the fiscal year should start.
  3. If you want to label the fiscal year by using the calendar year in which the fiscal year begins (rather than ends), select the Use starting year for FY numbering check box.
  4. If you want to use the current settings for the active file as well as all future project files, click Set as Default.
  5. Click OK.
  6. To display the timescale with custom fiscal year settings, on the View menu, click Gantt Chart.
  7. On the Format menu, click Timescale.
  8. On the tab for the timescale tier or tiers that you want to display with the fiscal year (the Top Tier, Middle Tier, or Bottom Tier tab), select the Use fiscal year check box.
  9. On the tabs of the timescales you want to display, click the timescale units you want in the Units boxes.
  10. On the tabs of the timescales you want to display, click the labels you want in the Label boxes.

Note   Settings are only changed in the timescale of the current view. To update the timescale in another view, such as the Task Usage or Resource Usage view, click that view on the View menu, and then repeat steps 7–10.
