Setting the language of text.
If you normally work in one language but sometimes work in another language, you first must select the text that is in another language and identify it (also known as "setting the language") before you can check spelling or grammar.
Select the text that is in the language that you want to set.
In Word 2007, on the Review
tab, click the Set Language
Select the language that the text is in, select Detect language automatically
, and then click OK
When you set the language of text, you tell the spelling checker which dictionary language to use to check your spelling. If you don't set the language of text, the spelling checker may identify words as misspelled or ungrammatical when they're just in another language.
Note In PowerPoint 2007, you must set the language for the text on each slide. In Excel 2007, you must set the language for the first language that you want to spell check, run the spelling checker, set the language for the second language, and then run the spelling checker again.
