Yes. Additional trials of the 2007 release software are located online at the Microsoft Office System Trial software page.
How do I avoid uninstalling the trial if I want to obtain the full-product version from a retailer?
To avoid uninstalling the trial, purchase the full-product version of the preinstalled software that is the same version and language as the preinstalled trial software. For example, if the trial software is Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 English, the full-product version should be Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 English as well. If the full-product version is a different version and/or in a different language, you will have to uninstall the trial and manually install the full-product version.
Why is Microsoft providing media fulfillment for online orders only at the request of customers?
Digital distribution of software is a new, cost-effective way of buying and selling software. Digital distribution eliminates the need for shipping and handling costs. Because you no longer need the physical discs from Microsoft to install the software, you can avoid paying these additional costs.
Customers who purchase a preinstalled or downloaded version of the software may make a backup copy of the product as well as order the media.
How can I get backup media for the 2007 Microsoft Office release I purchased from a system builder?
You can acquire backup media (CD-ROMs or DVDs) for the 2007 release by following these steps. Note that your product license purchase date must be within 90 days of purchasing your new computer.
- Go to the 2007 Microsoft Office system backup page.

- The product key
Note You can pay for backup media directly on the Web site by using a credit card or money order, or you may mail Microsoft a check. Please note that shipping and handling fees may vary depending on your geographic location.
- You will receive a message with a reference number. Print the Web page or write the number on a piece of paper.
- Write this reference number on your receipts for your computer and 2007 Microsoft Office Medialess License Kit. Send copies of both receipts and the reference number page to the address listed on the Web page. If paying by check, include that, too.

Trial expiration — Trial period and notifications
How long can I use the trial?
Once activated, the trial will be fully functional for approximately 60 days. The trial period, which begins upon activation, does not expire until the last day of the month within your trial period. During the activation process, you will be notified of the date on which the trial period will expire. The trial preinstalled on a new computer will be fully functional for approximately 60 days from the date you activate it.
Is the trial good for 60 days based on when I first start my computer, install the trail, or activate the trial?
The 60 days is based on time of activation.
What happens when the trial expires?
After the trial expires, the software goes into reduced functionality mode. In reduced functionality mode, you can continue to view and print files, but you cannot modify existing files or create and save new ones. You can convert the trial to a full version by purchasing a full-product key either from an authorized retailer or online. To convert the software after the trial has expired, open a 2007 Microsoft Office suite program, point to Resources in the Options menu, and then click Activate Microsoft Office.
How will I know the trial is expiring?
Thirty days before the trial period ends, you will start receiving expiration reminder messages indicating the date that the trial will expire. How can I convert my trial version by obtaining the full-product version through a retailer?

Learn more about how to convert your trial.
What happens if I decide to buy the full-product version during the 60-day trial?

If you purchased your new computer from a retailer, you can purchase a full-packaged product off the shelf or go online to purchase a full-product license. However, if you purchased your new computer from a system builder or a value added reseller (VAR), you can purchase a Medialess License Kit from the system builder or VAR, or go online to purchase a full-product license. Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 cannot coexist with any earlier version of Microsoft Outlook. If you choose to install Microsoft Office Outlook 2007, you cannot keep any earlier version.
