Request a trial activation key
 

Your newly purchased computer includes a preinstalled version of the 2007 Microsoft Office release. You can try it free for 60 days by requesting a trial activation key. You can request a free 60-day trial activation key online or from your desktop.

Request a trial activation key online

  1. Identify your Microsoft Office suite by referencing the product name located in the Activation Wizard title bar of the "Enter Your Product Key" dialogue box. Your suite's product name may be Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007, Microsoft Office Small Business 2007, or the 2007 Microsoft Office system.

     Note   To launch the "Enter Your Product Key" dialogue box, click start on the Windows taskbar, click All Programs, click the Microsoft Office folder, and then click a Microsoft Office program.

  2. Visit the Microsoft Office trial key request page.
  3. On the trial key request page, enter your Microsoft Passport Network account or Microsoft Windows Live ID information. If you do not have a Passport Network account or Windows Live ID, you can create a new account by following the steps in the dialog box.
  4. Enter your name and e-mail address, and then complete the registration information. Your key will be displayed and sent to you by e-mail for your records.
  5. After you have your trial activation key, you can activate your trial.

Request a trial activation key from your desktop

 Note   This option may not be available to all users. If you cannot locate the Microsoft Office — 60-day trial desktop icon, request a trial activation key online.

  1. On your desktop, double-click the Microsoft Office — 60-day trial Trial icon (c) Microsoft desktop icon .
  2.  Note   If the icon does not appear on your desktop, you can access the Activation Assistant by clicking Start on the Windows taskbar, pointing to All Programs, clicking the Microsoft Office folder, and then clicking Activation Assistant.

  3. Click the Click here to request your trial activation key online link to display your 25-character trial activation key.

     Note   It is recommended that you click the Click here to request the following benefits link to receive an e-mail message containing the trial activation key for your records, along with links to helpful online resources.

  4. Click the Click here to launch Microsoft Office and enter your product key link to start the activation process.
