Step up from your trial suite
 

You have tried your preinstalled 2007 Microsoft Office suite that you purchased, and now you want to step-up to another full-product version.

What is step up?

If your computer came with a preinstalled version of either Microsoft Office Basic 2007 or Microsoft Office Small Business 2007, you may also have a 60-day trial of Microsoft Office Professional 2007 preinstalled on your machine. This means you get all the programs that you purchased and you also get to try the applications in Office Professional 2007 that you didn't purchase for a 60-day trial period. If you purchased Microsoft Office Basic 2007 or Office Small Business 2007, you don't need to separately activate the trial of Office Professional 2007. It starts automatically when you activate the preinstalled version.

If you like the programs in Office Professional 2007, you can purchase a step up to the higher version rather than having to purchase a new license. See the grid below.

Step up to another suite by using the trial activation reminder message

Trial expiration reminder messages will appear 30 days, 15 days, and each day for 10 days before the trial expires. When the trial expiration reminder message appears, you can convert your trial.

  1. In the trial expiration reminder message, click Purchase.
  2. In the Activation Wizard, do one of the following:
    • If you have purchased a product key from a retailer, click Enter Product Key, and then follow the instructions in the wizard.
    • If you have not purchased a product key and would like to purchase one online, click Buy Product Key Online, and then follow the instructions in the wizard.
  3. Enter the 25-character full-product key, and click Continue.
  4. Click I accept the terms in the License Agreement, and then click Next to install.

Step up to another suite by using a 2007 Microsoft Office program

  1. Open the trial version of Microsoft Office Word 2007, Microsoft Office Excel 2007, or Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007.

     Note   To step up in Microsoft Outlook 2007, Microsoft Office Publisher 2007, or Microsoft Office Access 2007, click Activate Product on the Help menu.

  2. Click the Microsoft Office Button .
  3. Click Word Options.
  4. In the Navigation Pane, click Resources.
  5. Click Activate Microsoft Office.
  6. In the Activation Wizard, do one of the following:
    • If you have purchased a product key from a retailer, click Enter Product Key, and then follow the instructions in the wizard.
    • If you have not purchased a product key and would like to purchase one online, click Buy Product Key Online, and then follow the instructions in the wizard.
  7. Enter the 25-character full-product key, and click Continue.
  8. Click I accept the terms in the License Agreement, and then click Next to install.
