How did you get here?
You have arrived at this page because you selected an item that is available only if you have a 2007 Microsoft Office suite or other 2007 Microsoft Office System program installed.
To read and work with premium content provided specifically for the 2007 Beta release — including all training courses and some templates, clip art, and more — you need to upgrade to a new 2007 Microsoft Office System product.
Did you arrive here by mistake?
If you have installed the 2007 release then you have arrived at this page because your installation of the 2007 release was not detected by the Microsoft Office Online Web site.
Your installation of the 2007 release might not have been detected for several reasons.
You have not enabled an ActiveX control
- For your installation to be detected, you need to enable the ActiveX control. In addition to detection, the ActiveX control allows you to download and open selected media clips, templates, and training practice files automatically, in the correct file format and location.
To enable the ActiveX control:
To add Microsoft Office Online to your list of trusted sites
- On the Tools menu in Internet Explorer, click Internet Options, and then click the Security tab.
-
Click the Trusted Sites icon, and then click Sites.
-
Clear the Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone check box.
-
In the Add this Web site to the zone box, type http://office.microsoft.com, and then click Add.
- Click OK twice.
Note Make sure Active Scripting is enabled. In Internet Explorer, on the Tools menu, click Internet Options. On the Security
tab, click Custom Level. Scroll down to Scripting and make sure Active scripting
is enabled.
Your Active X control may be blocked
You might have been sent to this page because your ActiveX control has been blocked by Internet Explorer.
To enable the ActiveX control
- On the Tools Options menu in Internet Explorer click Manage Add-ons.
- Select Office Online and then select Enable.
This will allow you to see content for the 2007 release.
Using a browser that is not ActiveX enabled
Only Internet Explorer is ActiveX-enabled. Netscape Navigator version 6.0 and later, however, has an add-in that gives it the ability to work like an ActiveX control. If you are using another browser but want to take advantage of all the features of Office Online, you either need to use Internet Explorer as your browser or download Netscape 6.0 or later.
If you installed the 2007 release before you installed Netscape 6.0 or later, Office Online still may not detect your installation. In this case, you should run Reinstall or Repair on the 2007 release.
From the Start menu, point to Control Panel, click Add or Remove Programs, click 2007 Microsoft Office Edition, and then click Change. You can then select Reinstall or Repair.
