You can adapt a single presentation to a variety of audiences by creating custom shows. Custom shows are either slides that you group together within your presentation that you can present independent of the entire show, or groups of slides in your presentation that you connect to by a hyperlink.
Before you can present a custom show, you need to indicate which slides to use by following the procedures for creating a custom show.
Use the following procedure after you have set up your custom show.
- On the Slide Show menu, click Set Up Show.
- Under Show slides, click Custom show, and then click the show that you want in the list.
- Click OK.
- Do one of the following:
Start a slide show from within Microsoft PowerPoint

Open the presentation that you want to view as a slide show.

Do one of the following:
- Click Slide Show
in the lower-left corner of the PowerPoint window.
- On the Slide Show menu, click View Show.
- Press F5.
Start a slide show from your desktop
- In My Computer or Microsoft Windows Explorer, locate the presentation file that you want to view as a slide show.
- Right-click the file name, and then click Show.
Start a PowerPoint Show (.pps)
Use this procedure to play a slide show that you have saved as a PowerPoint Show (.pps).
- In My Computer or Microsoft Windows Explorer, locate the PowerPoint Show file that you want to view as a slide show.
- Double-click the file name to start the show.
Tip
To create a shortcut to your PowerPoint Show, use the right mouse button to drag the file to your desktop. When you release the mouse button, click Create Shortcuts Here.
