Set up an OLE object to open during a presentation

Use this procedure after you have inserted an OLE (OLE: A program-integration technology that you can use to share information between programs. All Office programs support OLE, so you can share information through linked and embedded objects.) object— such as a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet— using the Insert Object command.

  1. On the slide, select the icon or link to the OLE object you want to open.
  2. On the Slide Show menu, click Action Settings.
  3. Do one of the following:
    • To open the OLE object by clicking it during a slide show, click the Mouse Click tab.

    • To open the OLE object by moving the mouse pointer over it, click the Mouse Over tab.

  4. Click Object action, and then click Open.

ShowTip

To preview how the OLE object will open during the slide show, click Slide Show Button image at the lower left of the Microsoft PowerPoint window.
