Add a picture throughout a presentation
To make a picture appear on multiple slides, add it to the slide master (slide master: The slide that stores information about the design template applied, including font styles, placeholder sizes and positions, background design, and color schemes.) for those slides. If you want the picture to appear only on slides that have a Title Slide layout, add it to the title master (title master: The slide that stores information from the design template pertaining to styles on title slides, including placeholder sizes and positions, background design, and color schemes.).
- On the View menu, point to Master, and then click Slide Master.
- In the thumbnails on the left, click the slide master or title master that you want.
- On the slide master or title master, add the picture.
How?
-
Click where you want to insert the picture.
-
Insert one of the following:
A picture from a file
- On the Drawing
toolbar (toolbar: A bar with buttons and options that you use to carry out commands. To display a toolbar, press ALT and then SHIFT+F10.), click Insert Picture
.
- Browse to the folder that contains the picture that you want to insert, then click the picture file.
- Do one of the following:
A picture directly from a scanner or digital camera
For this procedure, make sure that your device is compatible with TWAIN (TWAIN: A cross-platform interface for acquiring electronic images that have been captured by scanners, digital cameras, and still-frame video capture boards.) or WIA (Windows Image Acquisition (WIA): A device-driver interface that supports still digital cameras and low- and high-end scanners, and allows retrieving of still images from IEEE 1394-based DV camcorders and USB-based "Web cams.") and is connected to your computer. You should also make sure that you have installed the device software that supports TWAIN or WIA.
- Set up the picture in the scanning device.
- On the Insert menu, point to Picture, and then click From Scanner or Camera.
- If you have more than one device attached to your computer, under Device, select the device that you want to use.
- Do one of the following:
- To return to normal view, on the Slide Master View toolbar, click Close Master View.
Notes
- Use the preceding procedure to add other items that you want on every slide or on multiple slides, including AutoShapes (AutoShapes: A group of ready-made shapes that includes basic shapes, such as rectangles and circles, plus a variety of lines and connectors, block arrows, flowchart symbols, stars and banners, and callouts.), WordArt (WordArt: Text objects you create with ready-made effects to which you can apply additional formatting options.), tables, charts, clip art (clip art: A single piece of ready-made art, often appearing as a bitmap or a combination of drawn shapes.), and diagrams.
- If you have added a picture to a slide master, but you do not see the picture on all of the associated slides, the background for those slides may be set to omit graphics. On the Format menu, click Background, and make sure that the Omit background graphics from master check box is cleared. You can also select this option and apply it to selected slides when you do not want the picture on the slide master to appear on those slides.
- If there is more than one slide master in your presentation, you will need to add the picture to each of the masters for it to appear on all slides.
