Insert a new slide
 
  1. To insert a new blank slide, do either of the following:
    • On the Formatting toolbar, click New Slide Button image.
    • With the insertion point in the Outline or Slides tab, press Enter.
  2. In the Slide Layout task pane (task pane: A window within an Office program that provides commonly used commands. Its location and small size allow you to use these commands while still working on your files.), click the layout you want.

ShowTips

  • You can also insert a new slide from the Slide Layout task pane: point to a layout, click the arrow, and then click Insert New Slide.
  • If you want to keep the Slide Layout task pane from displaying each time you click New Slide Button image, clear the Show when inserting new slides check box at the bottom of the pane.
