Turn automatic layout on or off
 
  1. On the Tools menu, click AutoCorrect Options.
  2. Click the AutoFormat As You Type tab.
  3. Under Apply as you work, select or clear the Automatic layout for inserted objects check box.

ShowTip

You can also turn off this option by using the Automatic Layout Options button Button image, which appears on the right after an automatic layout has been applied to a slide. Click the button, and then click Stop Automatic Layout of Inserted Objects.
